Important information about 2015 renewals via Swets

In light of the recent news announcing that the subscription agent Swets has gone into administration you will find more information on the respective price list page for specific instructions for each publisher.

IWA Publishing

Journal of Hydroinformatics – number of issues has increased from 4 issues a year to 6 issues. The number of published papers will increase by 25% from 2015.

Journal of Water & Health – the number of published papers will increase by 33% from 2015.

From mid-2015 all IWA journals will be hosted on the HighWire platform increasing discoverability of our content and improving readers' experiences.

Some of the benefits the HighWire Open Platform will provide include:

  • A flexible publishing platform designed to adapt to the latest advances in online publishing.
  • Support of key industry standards, such as COUNTER and ORCID.
  • A wider range of authentication methods including Athens and Shibboleth.
  • Improved article discoverability and integration with services such as Google Scholar, cross-content searching, and inter-content linking.

From mid-2015 all Portland Press journals will be hosted on the HighWire Open Platform increasing discoverability of our content and improving readers' experiences and this will be available to subscribers at no extra cost as part of their subscription.

Some of the benefits the HighWire Open Platform will provide include:

  • A flexible publishing platform designed to adapt to the latest advances in online publishing.
  • Support of key industry standards, such as CrossMark, FundRef, COUNTER and ORCID.
  • A wider range of authentication methods including Athens and Shibboleth
  • Improved article discoverability and integration with services such as Google Scholar, PubMed and Web of Science.
  • Inter-journal linking that will allow subscribers access to cited references and sources from other HighWire-hosted journal articles.

Royal Society Publishing

The Royal Society is launching a new open access journal, Royal Society Open Science, which will publish high-quality original research across the entire range of science on the basis of objective peer-review. The journal will officially launch later in 2014, for more information please visit http://rsos.royalsocietypublishing.org.

The Royal Society journal archive is now available to purchase from year 1997 onwards. For more information or to request a quotation please contact sales@royalsociety.org.

Antiquity

From 2015 Antiquity will be published by Cambridge University Press http://www.cambridge.org/. Subscription rates for 2015 will be available from Cambridge University Press shortly.

Vathek Publishing

As of September 2014, the journals of Vathek Publishing are published by SAGE. From the start of January 2015, SAGE will take on all customer service activity for the journals. If you are an existing subscriber SAGE will have your details and your subscription will continue without interruption. Information on the transition is available on the SAGE website. If you have any problems, queries, or would like to renew a subscription, please contact subscriptions@sagepub.co.uk.

Subscription Year: January to December 2015.

Anytime start subscriptions are available for the Handbook of Practice Management online, Automotive Engineer and World Water.

Delivery Address: Subscription agents should supply the name and address of the subscribers, even if the delivery is through a consolidation address. To ensure online access please supply the Internet Protocol (IP) address where applicable.

Payment: Payment can be made by Credit Card or bank transfer. For bank transfer payments, please contact sales@portland-services.com for details.

Terms: Cash with order or against pro-forma invoice. Where possible, payment should be made by bank transfer, please ensure our reference number is quoted on all payments. Please contact us for our bank details.

Unless detailed otherwise on the price chart, prices are applicable in the following regions:

Euros (€) - for all European countries (excluding the UK)
US Dollars ($) - for North, Central, South America and Canada
Sterling (₤) - for UK and rest of world

Please ensure you use the appropriate currency when ordering/renewing journal subscriptions.

Claims: Claims for non-receipt of an issue must be made within 3 months of despatch. Latest despatch dates can be found at www.portlandpress.com/pcs/journals/maildates.htm.

Cancellations: Accepted less single-issue price for issues already sent except Royal Society - in case of genuine error, reported within 30 days from receipt of first issue, any money paid will be refunded in full and the subscription cancelled. After this time no refund allowed.

Additional Postage for Priority Delivery Aims: Additional postage can be paid for airmail despatch to ensure the following delivery aims for Western Europe within 2-3 days and Rest of World within 5-7 days.

Continuity: To ensure continuity of despatch of journals each year, payment should reach PCS by 1 December. Agents and booksellers are responsible for the continuity of orders placed through them.

Online Grace Period: Online grace periods differ per publisher for online journals. Therefore, to ensure continuity of online access, payment should reach PCS by 1 December.

Terms of Online Access: Generally Institutional prices for online subscriptions allow online access by authorised users on one contiguous campus community and network. Full terms and conditions of usage are available on the relevant journal website.

Usage Statistics available: Journals hosted on the Portland Customer Services Sirius platform are COUNTER compliant; all library usage reports conform to COUNTER code of practice. Journals published by Portland Press, IWA Publishing and ProQuest are hosted on the Sirius platform.

Value Added Tax (VAT): Our VAT number is GB 523 2392 69.

UK Agents: VAT is due at the appropriate rate on all sales to agents within the UK.

EU Agents: VAT will not be charged to agents within the EU where the agents VAT number is clearly stated on all orders. If no VAT number is given VAT will be charged at the appropriate rate.

Non EU Agents: VAT will be charged on supplies to UK subscribers only.

VAT on Electronic Journals: Will be charged where applicable at 20% of the subscription price.

VAT on Combined Journals: Will be charged where applicable at 20% on a percentage of the total price. The relevant percentages differ according to the individual publisher and title. The amount of VAT is shown on the price list.
